Parent Focus Group

The Parent Focus Group met again on Tuesday 12th February – the main focus of this meeting was around Internet safety and Mr Smyth came along to discuss the work that the school are doing with the children. There is a substantial amount of focus with the children regarding keeping themselves safe online,  but Mr Smyth was also keen to ask for our feedback on what the school could do more around raising the awareness of this during school hours.

The parents all agreed that the school are doing a great job in raising this awareness through communication at assemblies and general work within the classes but were quick to reflect on their own responsibilities as parents and recognised the importance of this communication and support happening at home too. Mr Smyth took on board feedback and will continue to develop  the schools strategy for internet safety.

In the latter part of the meeting Mrs Hutchinson gave a further update on the building work which is coming on well.
