School Council Launch 'Fitness Freddy' Charity Fundraiser.

13th Feb 2020

The school council have named the 4 charities they are going to support this year through our traditional 'Fitness Freddy' fundraiser. Through all money raised, the following charities will benefit.

  • Cancer Focus NI - supports local cancer patients, their families and carers, funds cancer research and campaigns for better health policies.
  • UK Deaf Association (N.I.) - money raised will be used to teach deaf boys and girls sign language. Money will also be used to promote their positive mental health and well being.
  • Dr. Barnardo's -  protect, support and nurture the UK's most vulnerable children.
  • S.O.S. Children's Village - More than 140 million children worldwide have lost one or both parents. When a child's world is turned upside down, SOS Children’s Villages UK works to give them a home and a family with siblings and a trained SOS parent. We provide communities where children can grow up from infancy to adulthood with quality education and medical care.

The school council have researched and selected each of these charities as they continue to represent the views of all the pupils in Strandtown.
